When the communication platform Simon is in floods, he briefly blacks out and awakens to discover that he is inside a diving suit. Exploring Upsilon, Simon makes contact with a woman named Catherine Chun, who invites him to Site Lambda and reveals that he is currently in the year 2104, one year after a comet devastated the Earth and left PATHOS-II as the final known outpost of humanity.
